Little Man

Since I am on a role, blogging my ace off right now I wanted to put a little some thing up for my little man, Ryland Joel.  He and I have been spending a lot of time together lately and he has been around to excitedly get the packages that we have been receiving since we decided to take this trip.  He has also been very helpful testing out gear, making sure it will stand up to hard use.  Most importantly, he has been a major source of enjoyment for me and a faithful training partner.  I always imagined that if I had children, I would never be alone or have time to be alone, think to myself, or any of that.  I was wrong, JT was very enthusiastic about this trip for me and Aaron and so has Ry.  He has been with me every day helping me and cheering me on while we train.  Mostly we run with him on my shoulders, or we hike any where from 2- 10 miles at least four time each week.  I got to give him a shout out for all his help and source of inspiration.
As most of you know, Ry will be 5 on July 14th at 12:11 A.M.  I have been trying to get him set up for a life long enjoyment of the outdoors weither on a bike, boat, by foot, with a camera, or backpack.  Thus far, he as been loving it, he as actually gained 5lb's since we started 6 weeks ago and his appetite has tripled.  As for myself, I have lost 10lb's and I hope to loose another 10 in the next couple weeks to offset some of the weight we will be carrying.  A couple of pics to document his help and dedication to this trip.  Thanks little man, I love you the mostest, mostest!

  1. Great pics of you and Ry. Still can't get over the fact that at four he hiked 10 miles. That little guy is gonna do some crazy things. If you and I aren't careful Sky and Ry will be running circles around us in the backcountry. Really digging the new blog layout and posts.
