Salomon Quest 4D GTX Hiking Boots

Weight: 2lb 13oz
Materials: Suede leather/ nylon
Lining: Gor-Tex
Mid Sole: Duel Density EVA
Support: Thermoplastic Urethane Plate
Out Sole: Rubber Blend (better than Vibram boots in the past)

Bar none, these are the best boots I've ever owned.  Comfortable, rugged, and they look badass!  Yeah, I payed a grip for these damn boots but after our trip to the Muir Trail where my boots fell apart and the entire bottoms of my feet turned to one large all encompassing blister, right then and there I decided to never let that happen again!  Jay can testify to that story fyi.  I have tested these boots on hikes ranging from 2-15 miles, deep sand, creek crossing, gravel, and mountaineering up steep and large rocky gorges.  The traction is amazing, like no other I've owned.  Lacing is awesome, heel sticks and they are Gor-Tex lined.  A little warm at times but the weather has been so erratic on the TRT who knows if we will get snow, rain, or extreem heat when we go in three weeks.  Description says the foot bed is based off a trail shoe turned backpacking boot and it feels like a shoe.  I opted for ankle support instead of trail runners which was a tough decision, I really wanted to try out trail shoes, maybe next time.
